Guests of Taveuni Island Resort have some of the world’s best diving spots at hand. The nickname "The soft coral capital of the world” was assigned to Fiji thanks to Taveuni’s richness in beautiful soft corals. However, soft corals are not the only pride of the waters around Taveuni. Somosomo Straits waters are renowned with such treats as Rainbow Reef. This beautiful reef is 30km long and boasts magnificent multicoloured soft corals as well as stunning hard corals and plentiful marine life. White tip sharks, manta rays, barracudas, a vast variety of butterfly fish, stone fish, long nose hawkfish and even leopard sharks have been spotted around Rainbow Reef. The world famous Great White Wall dive site is also within an easy boat ride from the resort providing a fantastic dive experience. It offers plenty of exciting formations and marine life, with Blue Ribbon Eel Reef and the Jerries Jelly being only two of many dive sites within it. There are dramatic drop offs, walls and tunnels to explore. Perhaps the most breathtaking is the wall covered with white soft coral dropping to 73 meters! Diving excursions can be arranged with the dive operators in the area.
